Wireless internet is now becoming more and more popular in both homes and to the public. WAN or Wireless Area Networks are becoming more affordable for individuals and it may be time for you to buy a wireless internet plan from your ISP. Many ISPs (Internet Service Providers) now provide high speed wireless internet access to your home. But what’s the best Wireless internet for your needs?

Best Wireless Internet speeds:

In the past, internet connection speeds used to be quite slow. Dial up speeds run at 56 Kbps and took minutes just to load a single web page. Now it is quite common for your ISP to provide wireless internet speeds between 384 Kbps to 2.0 Mbps. Speeds of around 2.0 Mbps are recommended for the average user. An average user that would do well with that speed to check email and view multiple websites often, and maybe download a few movies or photos occasionally.

If you are a user who needs more bandwidth simply because you download multimedia files frequently (watching videos online, sharing photos, uploading massive file sizes, etc), then a speed of 7 Mbps or higher is recommended. If you live in the city, many ISPs have high speed wireless internet plans than can exceed 15 Mbps. When looking through ISP internet plans, also make sure the ISP does not put a cap limit on the amount you can download each month. Some ISPs will only allow you to download a certain amount of data, and if you exceed it, they will charge your extra or slow down your speed.

Now comes the question, what is the best wireless internet provider? Well it depends on where you live. Wireless internet is often now provided everywhere. If you live in a city, then you will most likely have no problem. But out in the country, it might be difficult to find an ISP that provides wireless internet. There are to types of WSPS (wireless internet providers): Nationwide ISPs and Local WISPs. Nationwide IPS like T-Mobile, Boingo, Clearwire, and Verizon wireless, provided internet access nationwide. Local WISPs are smaller companies which may only cover areas that they are located in.

Finding the best wireless internet for your home can be difficult. The first thing you will need to do is find a good ISP. And isp or internet service provider is the company that basically provides your home with internet access. In other words, you computer needs a router that connects to a modem which connects to your isp. The isp provides you the ability to reach out to the world wide web. With out an isp, you would have no internet access and you wouldn’t be able to visit websites, play online games, watch online movies, or do anything online. You would be able to nothing.

In todays world, everyone wants a fast internet connection, and they want it to be wireless. Wireless internet if fast and convenient. Most people think of laptops when they hear wireless internet, but desktops can also be wireless. All a desktop needs is an integrated wireless card. The wireless card could probably be bought for as cheap as $20. Its fast and easy to install. You could very easily get all your computers in your household up and running with wireless internet.

After you make sure all your computers have a wireless card and the ability to use wireless internet, the next step is to buy a router and modem. Its probably a good idea to buy a decent quality router and modem. Just go to best buy or amazon.com and buy a decent router and modem. How will you know what is a decent router and modem? well don’t buy the cheapest one you can find for starters! Look at the features and compare them with other models.

Finally , the last step to obtaining wireless internet in your home, is to contact an ISP and tell them you want to buy a wireless internet plan through them. Be sure to shop around. Contact all the available ISPs in your area and check out their prices and options. Some ISPs provide a limited amount of monthly bandwidth. Others charge you for going over a certain amount. In almost all cases, its best to find a ISP that provides unlimited internet access and bandwidth. Speed is also important. Go for the highest speed that your available ISPs can provide. Anything over 12 Mbps is a good decent speed for the average user. If you plan on using the internet a lot, for example, playing online games, watching movies, etc… you may need to go with your ISP’s highest speed that they offer.

Is there any way at all i can make it faster?? and also, i have bearshare and the sped doesnt even get close to 4000 kbps. i dont know why, but please tell me how i can make it faster for bearshare too.

5229 kbps is one of the slowest speeds i’ve gotten. it usually reaches up to 11Mbps. why does it change so much? and is there anyway i can stop it from doing that, so it could always be around 9-12MB?

(i have fiber-optic internet and there is no modem, the ethernet cable just comes from the wall)

Ok so it’s come time for you to upgrade your computers to a home wireless internet connection. But you’re not quite sure how to get everything up and running with a wireless internet. The computer communicates with a wireless router. The wireless router than communicates to the modem. And the modem then communicates with your ISP. Your ISP or Internet Service Provider is a company that provides you with internet access. When you order internet through them, many times they will provide you with a modem. So it might be a good idea to ask them if you need to go out and buy the modem yourself. The modem usually connects to an outside phone line or cable connection. You don’t need to worry about this as the ISP should set this up themselves when  you order wireless internet from them.

Suggestions: I would recommend going out and buying a decent quality wireless router and modem. Some cheaper ones might not work as well and you may find yourself having internet problems with it. Usually a simple fix is just turning either the router or modem off for a few seconds and then turning it back on. But I still would recommend going with a good quality router. Also make sure you talk to your ISP about the various internet options they offer. Make sure you get enough bandwidth and speed to fit your needs.
