are you sure that they cannot track this and charge you? Please let me know thank you

  2. JimmyHACK says:

Good tip, they can still see you tethering. Only time will tell if they react

Stupid ass Verizon is already expensive as hell and now they want to charge u another arm for tethering, screw u

  4. LordStickMax says:

this should work on my droid x as well right?

  5. TweakMyDevice says:

@JimmyHACK Once the chefs release some custom ROMs for us they will remove the tether tracking protocols built into Gingerbread and we won’t have to worry about it. I tethered my DX for over a year on custom ROMs with Wireless Tether hacked in to work, never once had an additional usage charge or be called out by Verizon for tethering w/o a plan :) But for now you are taking a gamble by using this, so use it wisely.

  6. TweakMyDevice says:

@LordStickMax Yes it should work for any Verizon Droid with the “Mobile Hotspot”. If you try it on your DX make a nandroid first, and report back here please with your results!

  7. LordStickMax says:

@TweakMyDevice Whats a “nandroid”? Also do you know if verizon can track this some how?

  9. TweakMyDevice says:

@LordStickMax A Nandroid is basically a complete system restore point. Nandroid after booting into a new stable ROM, then again after setting up everything.

It says that I’m not rood so I can only edit databases on my SD card, what do i do?

  11. capegsanj says:

    *rooted

  12. m33turmak3r says:

Or you can just download a wireless tether app from the ma rket if your already rooted.. a lot easier

Now only if you had a thunderbolt!

  14. pdshoot says:

Great video, i was able to tether via blue tooth. I will try this once i get a better grip on rooting.

  15. pdshoot says:

Unrelated question, have you had any problems with contacts. I have doubles and cant delete or add new ones. It freezes droid, and force closes. If i am successful in deleting when i reopen contacts it puts it back. Any help would be appreciated.

  16. TweakMyDevice says:

@pdshoot No problems here, I only backup and restore through Google. Make sure all of your contacts are correct in your Google account then flash the UNL3ASH3D ROM…I’m uploading a video for the install now. Once it reboots and you sync everything should be ok.

Will this work on DROID x2?

  18. shadowravyn2011 says:

Have you noticed the data thru the free mobile HS registering differently so that it would be noticed? or , does it just stack to your normal data usage?

  19. TweakMyDevice says:

@shadowravyn2011 Everything shows up as “UNLIMITED MEGABYTE ALLOWANCE” on my Verizon Data Details. “No details” under the Connect/Hotspot tab so looks to all be filing under normal data usage! :)

I don’t want to be a dumbass, but is there a reason why i can’t find a root guide by you?

  21. TweakMyDevice says:

@TheEnlightenedOne8 Yes, you’re not looking hard enough! Lol, jk. It’s titled “Root Bionic on Windows” and is just below this one. I’m embedding these videos along with more content on my TweakMyDeviceDOTcom so it’ll be easier to find what you need!
