can i use more than one usb dongle to increase my internet speed?

im trying to get the best internet i can in my area, the best speed for a hard-line is 1.6mb/s but my internet dongle can get 4mb/s so i was wondering if i connect 2 internet dongles to my computer could i get faster speeds?

is it even possible to have more than one usb modem working on a single computer?

    You can have as many NICs (Network interface card) as you like on a computer, this includes the wireless modem thingies.

    However its not going to give you magical speed increases, at best you might load webpages slightly faster..but not alot at all.. You probably wont even notice it

    Also, please be aware that 4mb/s is the max THEORETICAL speed, you will never ever get that speed, ever.

    you can have as many as you want but it will always use the highest connected speed dongle.

    so to answer the first question, nope it wont increase your speed.
