How to build a DIY long range wireless usb wifi boost antenna satellite dish booster
How to build a DIY long range wireless usb wifi boost antenna from a satellite dish booster. NOTE: This design only boosts reception, not transmission. Good for close access points (like if they are turned down low), but not for distant signals. Dense urban high rise developments are best location for this design.

@Mavericco thanks
@xPl4guEx Posted to tosh.0 last month
@nnmk001 It is not intended for extreme range – just a download booster
@oldguyfromcalifornia Turn off the sound!
@Alxetc This is just to improve reception for local signals that are weak. Long range wont work because it does not boost transmission.
@reesysleather Turn off the sound!
@bigtalktheory1 Thanks man, I’m going to build one. One more question, is the LNB really relevant to increase the reception or can I just place the usb dongle in the focus point using this formula: (D^2)/ 16H , D= diameter, H=height of the dish
THIS IS THE MOST EXCELLENT WIFI ANTENNA ! LOL
Who gives a shit about the music playing he is showing you how to build somthing to get shit for free. Bet he can get all kinds of conection points liveing it a high rise I want to make my Xbox360 one bet it will work (You Evil Scientist Bastard) thanks bro
I tried this due to having to hang my tinfoil makeshift wireless adapter booster out the window, thought it would save me the embarrasement of that hanging it out there being downtown above a store front, but it doesnt recieve the same signals from just behind the glass, nor did I see any increase of any signals from this setup, tried two types of wireless adapters, cisco and netgear. So now I got a satellite dish sitting in my apt
) and am out 100buks
I tried this with a 6 foot c band mesh dish and it kicks ass!!!!
I used a collector around a wifi antenna where the lnb usually goes and fine tuned its position, waterproofed it, and used the dish movement controller ontop of my roof. Now thats the most excellent wifi antenna!!!
This is most excellent GAY! I was bopred so I tried this with an old Direct TV Dish I had lying around along with the same Belkin wireless wifi that I used for my old desktop and I didn’t receive any more wireless networks than using my laptops built in wifi nor were the signals received any stronger. I think Belkin made these stupid videos just to sell more of their wifi cards then idiots like this moron can make their own stupid videos trying to show off their stupidity.
hmmmm lets se as u have internet in ur own apartment or the person who has internet from right under u/top top of u, you would get excellent WiFi
what about 12 inch dish anteena some one says that it can give you 125 miles ok man try to connect that to the wifi router or accesspoint
you are a villlan scientist you can even invent robocop in real life & terminator hero lol
What is with the crappy sound can’t even understand what is being said.
@bigtalktheory1 “This cannot be watched because of the poor audio”
Try mixing in some volume controlled speakers!
@bigtalktheory1 Thanks for the vid, i had not problem following your instructions.
lol good stuff…. dish aiming up? to work the dish actually need to be angled down towards the ground… as the signal comes from the top of the dish
and thats not a belkin router lol
@bigtalktheory1 Hey I used your idea and it worked pretty sweet. I am actually able to play XBox live on it successfully! The wireless card I used was a cheap $5 model on ebay. It has a terrible antenna. Do you have any sweet advice on a high gain usb wireless card. I was checking out this one: Rosewill RNX-N180UBE
Use the tripod to help film
BUY a Belkin Active usb Extension cable for maximum signal boost, and lower signal cable loss!
Who would have thought it?!!?
John
cant make out what is being said due to background music
