To setup wireless interent, do I need to buy a pci wireless card to install in my motherboard, or should I just buy an external wireless usb, or is a wireless internet card already "pre-installed" on my motherboard? Can someone explain how to setup the internet and a link to a part that i need to get it working?Thanks.

Bro, its bucks. If it doesn’t work, its not going to make that much of a difference. I can just buy a wireless card at newegg or something. And according to the reviews and ratings, it works pretty well.

Ok maybe someone can explain it. If i buy a cell phone from AT&T or T-Mobile, i can get the internet on it from virtually anywhere, provided i have the plan that has internet. There is no "wi-fi hotspot" to find. Yet when i want wireless internet on my pc, i have to find a wireless hotspot, or buy a router and provide my own, and then i can get the internet.

can anyone explain both situations, and how they differ? obviously things are different there, and i was wondering what is different. Does the phone use the 802.11 standard?
is it a satellite involved that changes the situations? like if i were to get satellite based internet, i could get it anywhere, like a cell phone?

I was playing these 2 kids xM4Hx 3CL1PZE & xxR3DH4WKxx vs like 8 people (2vs8) bone yard map. In Team Elimination and we lost by 10 points. and the guys on my team were not nobs.

is at&t new uverse elite internet speed a dsl? or is it faster than my current cable internet speed of 6mbps

I live out in the middle of nowhere. I would like to get high-speed internet, but there is no carrier service at my location. I was wondering if I get a wireless AT&T card for my desktop, could I run my laptop off this card too while its in my desktop computer? I want to make sure the wife and I can both surf the net at the same time on one AT&T account with 2 separate computers. Would anyone know how to setup something like this? Is it even possible? What sort of gear would I need to buy to do this?

i have AT&T internet and i have the fastest speed; 6.0 MBps. i did a speed test and the speed was only 2.5 MBps. i watched youtube videos with people that have the same internet as me and theres went up to 5.0 MBps. can anyone tell me why my internet isnt going to its full speed and any tips on making my internet faster. also i have a linksys wirless router thats conneced to my modem.

I have two lynksys WAG200G routers. And i’ve already setup one router as the primary router. And i need to setup a wireless bridge to share internet connection from the primary router to the second router. Is this possible? & if so, how?

My DSL wireless internet has been working fine awhile. Then one day it stopped working. AT&T determined that is was a broken modem. I bought a new Motorola modem and Linksys wireless-n router. I set both of them up and I cannot get my wireless connection to work properly with my PC and Mac. When I hook the modem directly to the computers I get internet access, so the modem is fine.

When I hook up the modem to the Linksys wireless-n router the default setting is DHCP and I get wireless internet access on my Mac but not on my PC. When I set the router to PPPOE (with username/password etc.), I lose the wireless internet access on my Mac. My setting before all of this happened was PPOE and everything worked fine.

I remember that when my last router broke a couple years ago I also had a problem getting wireless internet setup and an AT&T tech determined that it was a conflict between the modem setting being DHCP (or something to that sort) and my Linksys router being PPOE. He walked me through changing something in the modem settings and I kept the PPOE setting on the router and everything worked fine. He also said something about when the IP expires that I may run into another problem and his fix was temporary (The fix worked for a couple of years and so nothing really expired).

So my question what do I need to change in my Linksys-N router and Motorola modem settings to get them to work together knowing that the setting of the router needs to be PPOE. I need wireless internet access for a PC and a Mac.

Is download 30311 kbps (3788.9 KB/sec transfer rate) & upload 2814 kbps (351.8 KB/sec transfer rate) considered a fast internet speed. I just tested my speed on www.speakeasy.net & that is what I got.
