I’m technologically challenged, so please bare with me.
I have a broadband connection, which runs through a "SURFboard" SB3100 Cable Modem to a Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router. From the router, an ethernet cable is connected to my computer, which uses Freespire, and has a wireless card in it.
This setup has my internet working on my computer; however, when I try to connect to the should-be wireless network using my iPod Touch, it can’t even detect the network a foot away from the computer. Yet, it can detect my neighbors’ networks. So, it would appear that the problem is with my internet going from wired to wireless.
Help?
I get my internet stream from my free city wireless provider. The stream enters my computer through a linksys network adapter with three antennas and an amplifier built in. It feeds an internal card. It works really well and I’d like to continue using it, but I want to send it to other computers in my apartment via wireless connection.
I want to use an ethernet card in an adjacent slot to feed a router that will transmit wireless signal across my apartment. For some reason the router will not install when attached to the output of the ethernet card. Should I just use a cross-over cable? Normally you run a ethernet cable from the wall to the router, to all of the computers, but I don’t have this ‘wall jack’ feature in my apartment.
Much obliged.
So i have a router, and a very strong wireless internet thing that doesnt work with my psp and ds. Then i have another one thats a lot weaker, and works on my psp and ds. The question is where do I plug it in with the ethernet cable? Into the router or the other wireless internet. ????
my wireless router is connected to everything.

Amber :The Ethernet cable is connected but the router has not gotten an Internet address.
how do i give it an address?
I have a wireless router. The wireless router is connected to my DSL modem and my desktop home PC. My desktop is connected to the router physically with an ethernet cable and accesses the internet as such.
I also have my laptop which I use to connect to the wireless router, wirelessly.
My question is, how or can I access my desktop PC to go through files, etc, via my laptop?
Do i attach a ethernet cable to it or what?
My grandmother has an old computer with windows 98 on it. It doesn’t have a port for an ethernet cable. On her main computer she has a high speed internet connection. She wants the high speed internet on the old computer also. Is there anything she can buy like an adapter or something that can enable her to have the internet on it?
Where to I connect my ethernet Cable that comes with the premium Xbox 360 to my broadband internet connection?
I have a AT&T 2WIRE router that I use on my MAC Tiger.
My MAC has AirPort in it which allows me to use the internet wirelessly…
And I have my old computer (It’s a Windows ME which my friend upgraded to a Windows XP SP2) with no internet and it only has a jack for a telephone line.
It’s jack is too small for a ethernet cable.
I know i need a Ethernet NIC, but nah… (there goes my solution)
Is there another way?
So I was wondering if I could install internet wirelessly.
